Shopify creates gift cards one at a time in the admin. These apps do the batch work. The scores come from our gift card ranking; this page adds the numbers that matter when the job is volume.
The generator: number of cards, value, currency, redemption (all currencies or issued currency), expiry and optional code prefix.
Free caps are monthly, not per batch
Bulk Gift Cards' free plan says 20 gift cards per month. Datora, BatchCard and GiftFix also meter by month: 50, 25 and 10. A 200-card corporate order needs a paid plan on all four. BatchCard Starter ($4.99, 500 cards a month) and Datora Basic ($9.95, 750 a month) are the cheapest ways to do that, and Bulk Gift Cards Pro ($49) is unlimited.
Why codes matter
Shopify shows only the last 4 characters of a gift card code after creation, and its standard CSV export includes only the last 4. Apps that create cards through the API receive the full code once, at creation. Bulk Gift Cards, BatchCard and GiftFix state code export. Datora states CSV download with a time window. If you print physical cards or send codes to a fulfilment house, test the export before you buy a large batch.

How do I create 1,000 gift cards at once on Shopify?
Shopify's admin creates one gift card at a time. Use a bulk app. With Bulk Gift Cards you upload a CSV or use the generator, preview the cards, then create. The free plan covers 20 cards a month, so 1,000 cards needs Pro. BatchCard lists up to 10,000 cards in one batch.
Can I bulk import gift cards with my own codes into Shopify?
Yes, with apps that list import of existing codes: Bulk Gift Cards, Datora and BatchCard (from its Starter plan). Shopify's own CSV export cannot be imported to create gift cards.
